Hi everyone ♡
Today I wanted to share my personal favourite smoothie recipe. Smoothies are a great and easy way to get that extra health boost. I did some research on different kinds of protein powders to find out which kind I wanted to add to my smoothies and I decided to use hemp protein powder. Why hemp protein? Hemp is a high-quality, plant-based protein that contains all nine essential amino acids. It's easy to digest, which means that the body can use almost all of those amino acids. Hemp protein powder also contains a high amount of fibre; higher compared to most other plant-based protein powders. Hemp seeds have a high amount of unsaturated fat, which is very beneficial to your heart health, and they're also an excellent source of antioxidants and minerals like magnesium, calcium, zinc, copper, iron and manganese.
My favourite product to add to my smoothies is Heal-Thyself's whole food blend. It doesn't only contain hemp protein, but also maca, spirulina and ginger amongst other micronutrients. It's 100% organic and doesn't contain any additives. I usually use it while making smoothies, but you could also easily sprinkle it onto your yoghurt or use it to make bliss balls. Especially now, during these colder months, I try to take extra care of myself and boost my immune system as much as I can to avoid getting sick. Besides from being very nutritious, it tastes really good too.
Check out my personal favourite recipe just below ↓
- 50 grams of Heal-Thyself whole-food blend
- 250 ml plant milk (I usually use oat or almond)
- 1 banana
- 1 handful of spinach and/or kale
- A pinch of cinnamon
- Chia and/or hemp seeds to add on top
Do you use any protein powder? If so, which one do you use?
With love,
Lysanne
