Hi everyone ♡
Today I'm writing a review about the 'Balance it' facial oil from Fais Botanicals. Fais Botanicals is a vegan, botanical skincare company from London that sells facial oils. Currently they're selling three different ones; Restore it, Nourish it & Balance it. I chose the the last one, because it's the most fitting for my skin type (oily/combination).
Review:
First of all, I love the fact that Fais Botanicals is a vegan, cruelty free skincare brand, which means their products are not tested on animals. That's already a big plus for me. I also think the packaging is really pretty. I like the minimalistic label with the gold details and the fact that the bottle is made of glass instead of plastic. You just have to be a little bit more careful while handling it.
Ingredients: Citrillus Lanatus Seed Oil, Passiora Edulis Oil, Squalane, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Pelargonium, Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary Sage) Flower Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Leaf Oil, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool, Citral
As you can see the facial oil contains only natural ingredients, which is also a big plus! Personally, I think using natural products is the best way to take care of your skin. Your skin absorbs the products you put onto it and if they contain chemical ingredients those can get into your body and potentially do some (internal) damage. Natural products are also better for the environment since they cause less pollution.
I received this facial oil about three weeks ago. I've always been a bit hesitant about using oils on my face, because I'd always been afraid it would clog up my pores and make me break out. However, since it's an all natural product I decided to give it a try. They recommend using 2-3 drops in the AM/PM. I started by using it only in the evening as the last part of my skincare routine. First my skin started to feel better, more nourished, but after about a week I noticed that my skin started to break out a little bit. So then I decided to try using it only 2-3 times a week in the evening. This worked out a lot better for my skin. Besides from having oily/combination skin, I also have sensitive skin (lucky me haha) so I think the facial oil was just a bit too much for me to use on a daily basis. I've always had some trouble finding the right skincare products that work well for me and don't irritate my skin. I do like using the 'Balance it' facial oil a few times a week and/or on those days where I feel like my skin needs a bit more nourishment. I think I'll probably be using it more often in the wintertime to help protect my skin and to keep it hydrated.
Conclusion:
I really love that it's a natural, cruelty-free vegan brand. Personally, the 'Balance it' facial oil is a little bit too heavy for me to use every day, but I do like using it occasionally to give my skin some more nourishment when needed!
You can buy the 'Balance it' facial oil and the two other facial oils here on the Fais Botanicals website for £25/€28 + shipping costs
Do you use facial oils? If so, which one(s)?
With love,
Lysanne
