Review: Indosole

Updated: May 7

Hi everyone ♡

Today I wanted to write a little review about Indosole. Last year I was invited to their European launch party in Amsterdam and I fell in love with the concept of the brand. Recently, I got to try out my second pair and I figured it was time to write a little something about the brand and what they stand for.

Indosole is sustainable footwear brand that produces flip flops and slides with soles made of recycled tires. Tire waste is a big problem with as many as 1,5 billion tires ending up as waste in landfills every year, mostly in developing countries. Since it's almost impossible for them to decompose, they remain in landfills for a long time and often become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, which can lead to the spread of diseases such as malaria and dengue fever, or they end up burned as a cheap alternative to fuel. This results in toxic fumes that are harmful to the environment, wildlife and people. In order to help fight this problem, Indosole has created a technique to break these tires down into tiny pieces and then turn them into soles. Not only is this a great way to help reduce the tire pollution problem, but their footwear is also ethically made as Indosole is a certified B corporation. The ones I got to try out were the flip flops in sea salt and the cross black slides, but they come in many more different colours. If you're looking for comfy flip flops or slides that not only look nice, but also help fight the waste problem, I'd definitely recommend checking out this brand :)

Had you heard of Indosole before?

With love,

Lysanne
